San Francisco

What a weekend! We took our little Star, Alex, to go see the musical Wicked in San Francisco. She loved it! I will say I like Alex's version of "For Good" a little better than Elphaba and Glinda's... It was so fun to spend time with just Alex. We will have to make this a tradition. Andie is already planning her trip to Hawaii. We'll see about that.

We did get in a little sightseeing while we were there. Here are some of the memories.

Yay! We're here!

This cute talented lady was selling her knit goods on the street. I wish I could've had one of everything. We got Alex a cute hat. Made by hand. Love that.

Riding the streetcar

On our way to Alcatraz with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background.

Just a cute pic.

I love this. We were at Alcatraz and I loved all the old brick.

Hot Mama!

I wanted a good pic of the hat we bought her. So cute!

Yay, love.

Oh baby, chocolate heaven!

Probably the best hot fudge peanut butter sundae ever!

My Bursting Heart

I am so proud of Alex I can't contain myself. She did her first performance with her new singing group and this was her solo. She sang to a sold out crowd at the Scera. Look how little she is on that big stage. Look how confident she is. This is one thing in her life that doesn't need nagging reminders to do well. She just loves it. And I love LOVE watching her! My heart bursts! Picture an über-proud pregnant lady doing the Ugly Cry on the front row... That was me. The Mom. I realize now how my mom must've felt watching her kids excel at something. It's moments like these I wish she were here. Because I know she would have LOVED it too. And we would both be sitting there doing the Ugly Cry together.

Thank you, Alex. I love you so much.

Our Thankful Tree

What a gift to have the month of November to remind us what we're thankful for. I found this great idea here. Throughout the month when we think of things we're thankful for we will write it down on a leaf and hang it on our tree. We did this for family night this week. It is cute some of the things the girls thought of. I came home from my doctor appointment the other day and Dave had written the H1N1 vaccine on a leaf. I don't think it will be hard to fill this tree up.

Crazy Hair Day

It was drug awareness at the school last week... Guess who did their hair for crazy hair day?? Good job, Dave! I didn't know he had it in him. He will now be the official crazy hair dresser forever. I am happy to pass that torch, thank you very much!

Yes, that's a fork and a diaper

More trash

The master

That is some crazy hair

My Three Year Old Cupcake

My baby turns three today. I can't believe it. Avery is 98% pure joy and 2% turd. Dave and I are always laughing at her latest phrases and comments. This one is from last night...

"Mom... you're my mom. Dad... you're my sister."

Avery is all girl. She loves her big sis Andie and drives her nuts copying everything she does. Andie is always telling me to make her stop. Of course Avery has no clue what she's doing. She has a "Packpack" she stole from Emily's house (I still have to return, sorry Emily) and wears it everywhere. She puts anything and everything in it. When she wakes up in the morning that's usually what she looks for.

She loves Dora and Little Bear. She loves to eat peanut butter on a spoon. She loves her dollies and playing with friends. She calls the theater in the basement, "The beaver." She loves her dancing class and she loves to read books. She loves balloons and is expecting a pink bouquet to be brought home today. She has definitely got her own little personality that is hilarious. I love it when we're in the car and she is watching a movie and wants me to turn up the volume she'll yell, "Pless play!" ...and I will never correct her.

She gets so excited by the simplest things. Her eyes get really big and she gets a huge smile on her face. I told her it was her birthday and I was going to make her a birthday cake and she yelled, "For me?!" with her big eyes and smile. When Avery is doing something she shouldn't and I get mad she starts crying and yells,"You're mad to me!" So cute.

I also love in the mornings without fail she'll wake up and act like she hasn't seen me in weeks and come running yelling, "Good morning, mama!" and gives me a big hug with a huge smile on her face. She usually always has a smile on her face... except when I'm trying to take her picture. (That is part of the 2% turd.) She is so snugly and lovable and is always saying "I wuv you, mama." I can't believe my baby is three. Even with one on the way, she'll always be my baby.

I love you, Avery.

Halloween 2009

Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween. Ours was bonus this year because it wasn't snowing and we didn't have 80mph winds with a wind chill of 20 degrees. It felt a bit like Arizona... almost.

Andie and Avery in all their deliciousness

The only pic I got of Al all night. She was off with her friends... Busy busy.
(Her total candy count 271 pieces...Whoa!)

Andie wanted to be a beautiful witch. We tried the green face make-up and she immediately told me to take it off. I thought it was a good choice too.

She is delicious... even though she refused to smile.

I love this picture. Andie is such a good big sister. And trunk or treat is the best!

Happy Halloween
